Jewish nationalists and Mexican nationalists criticize Arizona immigration law that is far less draconian than their own

From:
Mexico and Israel Lobby should examine their own immigration policies before condemning Arizona

(LA Nonpartisan Examiner) -- by Robert Stark --

The Anti-Defamation League and the Government of Mexico have filed separate lawsuits against the State of Arizona over it's new immigration law which will take affect July 29. Lawyers representing Mexico filled a brief supporting the law suit which was brought of by the ACLU which they are taking to Federal Court claiming that the law violates the US Constitution. The document put out by the Government of Mexico states that the law threatens "the human and civil rights of its citizens when they are present in Arizona." Mexican President Felipe Calderon has condemned the bill stating it "opens the door to intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement."

While the Government of Mexico is outraged about Arizona its own immigration laws are far harsher than Arizona's. While Arizona's calls for the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants under Mexican Law entering the country illegally is punishable by up to two years in prison and an attempted re-entry by up to 10 years. Those who violate their visas can be sentenced to up to six years and the government of Mexico has the authority to arrest foreigners whom it deems as a threat to its national and economic interest.

Several Congressman have taken up Mexico's Government on its blatant hypocrisy. Referring to Mexico's President's opposition of the Arizona Bill Rep. Steve King of Iowa said "why would Mr. Calderon have any objections to an Arizona law that is less draconian than his own, one he has pledged to enforce?" Rep. Ted Poe of Texas stated in a speech on the House Floor titled "Is President Calderon Hypocritical" that "Mexico has long been doing the job of illegal alien deportation, and it seems to me it's hypocritical of Mexico and President Calderon to criticize the United States or Arizona for enforcing our illegal immigration laws. They are far less severe than Mexico's illegal immigration laws. So when President Calderon comes here tomorrow to complain about America and America's illegal immigration policy, perhaps Calderon would prefer America adopt Mexico's immigration policies."

While the Nation of Israel has not interfered with Arizona immigration stance many of major organization that represent Israel's interest in the United States such as the Anti-Defamation League, American Jewish Committee, and Simon Wiesenthal Center have also joined Mexico in denouncing the bill. The ADL has gone as far to file a lawsuit against Arizona.

In a joint statement ADL Arizona's regional chair Miriam Weisman and regional director Bill Straus stated "rather than making Arizona more secure, we believe this law will have the opposite effect. Fear of heightened law enforcement scrutiny about immigration status will deter victims and witnesses from coming forward and cooperating with the police, making it significantly more difficult for police to do their jobs. We understand that secure borders are a legitimate concern, but SB 1070 does not effectively address that concern. Rather, this bill drives a wedge between the Latino community - whose members are frequent targets of bias-motivated violence - and those local law enforcement agencies entrusted with protecting them. The bill is a manifestation of anger and frustration, fueled by exaggerated fears of violence and passed against a backdrop of increasing xenophobia. It is ill-conceived, misguided, and should not be implemented.

Much like Mexico Israel also has taken a harsh stance in regards to illegal immigration. In an article titled "Focus U.S.A. / Reminders of Israel in the Arizona immigration debate" in the Israeli Newspaper Haaretz Natasha Mozgovaya states that "As the debate stirred by the new Arizona immigration law remains heated, it's hard for those who remember the years of the "hunt" for foreign workers at the Old Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv not to see the similarity." She points out that "In the U.S., some representatives of the Jewish community have plunged vigorously into the current debate." She mentions that The Anti-Defamation League's Abraham Foxman told Haaretz: "Well, in terms of size and dimension Israel is nowhere near the U.S." She responds that In the United States, there are about 11 million illegal immigrants. Some communities are much better organized than the foreign workers in Israel, and the immigration policy based upon the law of return doesn't provide Israel much space or willingness to absorb them legally."

On a similar note Assaf Oron points out in an article titled "Israel has been ‘Arizona' all along" that "In Israel, laws like the Arizona one - and worse - have been in effect ever since independence. No, I'm not talking about the Occupation, but inside Israel proper. Any resident sixteen years of age or older must at all times carry an Identity card, and present it upon demand to a senior police officer, head of Municipal or Regional Authority, or a policeman or member of the Armed forces on duty. And guess against which ethnic group this requirement is enforced."...MORE...LINK

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.

I know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, housing, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!

Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.

"Benito": A Lying Enemy Of Americans Who Deserves Instant Death
(Apollonian, 29 Jun 10)

Get this straight, "Benito": a nation and its country are like a house--IT'S PRIVATE PROPERTY--it doesn't BELONG to aliens and enemy races who ARE NOT our people, who are rather enemies, certainly until demonstrated otherwise--even then they're STILL strangers with NO RIGHTS of domicile or refuge.

We owe u NOTHING, and if u think u want to invade our land, be prepared to die, u slimey, sniveling scum.

U aliens have no "rights"--any more than strangers have a right to do house-invasions--u will be shot and ruthlessly exterminated, and ur head cut off and stuck on a pole as example for other stupid scum who'd better not even think of coming here to invade.

Yes "Benito," believe me--I've "examined" my conscience, and I'm determined to defend our property and people against enemy invaders and scum like urself. DEATH TO U.

USA was made by white Christians for white Christians--NO ONE else. Weak will fall by "wayside" where u belong, "Benito," the stupid moron. U're going to have to do better than babbling ur stupid lies in order to defeat us in war--and war is what u're waging against us, never doubt, with all ur stupid, brainless lies and propaganda. Death to u.

If majority approves the law, then the law is validated thereby and legitimate to enforce--simply a matter of procedure for an enactment which is surely good, the extermination of enemy scum and puke like u.

CONCLUSION: U're such a stupid, ignorant, brainless piece-of-shit as u so fatuously talk about about what "WE" are committed to. I'm out for my interests and those of my people, and that's why I'm absolutely dedicated to killing and exterminating stinking shit like u, never doubt, u lying, sniveling filth. Honest elections and death to the Fed. Apollonian

Jewish extremists are aligned with Mexican nationalists in the same way that Jewish extremists aligned themselves with Blacks in the 50's and 60's. The Jews are using them as societal destabilizers.

apollonian,

if you can't debate someone without threatening and insulting them, that says more about you than about anything civil your opponent might say or write. Please keep it civil and refrain from personal attacks, insults and threats. Civility is not "wimping out" or being a "dweeb," -- it's common manners and common sense.

That said, when Benito wrote this: ("Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.") it also sounded like a threat, of the Trotskyite variety. Your threats almost sounded Islamist. Let's try to keep it Christian, Western, and civilized. That goes for you, too, Benito.

Hey Chris: WHAT'S UR PROBLEM?--why don't u just abide FREE SPEECH like the "libertarian" u pretend to being, and save ur fatuous, brainless platitudes, eh? U stink. A.

The President of Mexico is condemning "abuse in law enforcement." That's a good one. I guess he would know something about that, since the cops in Mexico are so thoroughly corrupt it boggles the mind. Mr. Calderon should worry more about keeping his own house in order. Then maybe there wouldn't be so many people desperate to leave that country for this one.

“All Men are created equal”! The founders had it right, when attempting to form a perfect union and they also knew that they were not there yet but knew we one day would get there. Lincoln moved us forward as did JFK and LBJ. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

It is my contention that this AZ law is not constitutional and will fail when challenged (unless, of course, they keep adding more amendments), pretty funny for this so called perfect law, that many internet bloggers claim it was copied “Word for Word” from the Federal law, which I frankly do not believe, if it was then no amendments would have been made, right?, of course, keep those lies coming.

As for the undocumented workers, as was attributed to Ronald Reagan “It’s the Economy, Stupid”. When the economy is good you say let’s all celebrate “Cinco de Mayo, my brothers” but when the economy is down “it’s all your fault, you damn immigrant”. This too will pass, the real problem is the narcos, arms and people smugglers and that’s what the focus should be on.

Don’t you find it funny that no one ever voted for Brewer for Governor, she is trying to get elected on the back of undocumented workers, it’s all about politics, do not be fooled. In the last few months Busy Brewer has passed S.B. 1070, no permit conceal weapons law, the famous Birthers law, banning Ethnic studies law, (could she be behind the Mural in Prescott, Arizona) and if history is a lesson and if she can read, she should look up Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago (which failed when legally challenged) and the craziest one the boycott of Martin Luther King Day, not wanting another holiday, how crazy is that. I believe there is an undercurrent to their enactment of new laws, they real love following a distinct pattern. Poor Brewer, in an attempt to gain sympathy, in an interview she first said her father had died in Germany fighting the Nazi in World War II (which ended 1945) and we find out her father was never in Germany and died in California in 1955 (watch her play the victim card, again) and then she went to Washington and came back empty as always, poor dear.

It is odd that there has been this big spike in right wing idiocy coming out of Arizona though. Texas has a higher background level of crazy and right now Arizona is like a supernova taking the attention. I wonder how long it will last.

Actually it isn’t that strange. Arizona has been moving gradually towards the middle over the last twenty years. The population has doubled in that time and a big part of that spike wasn’t old retirees who tended to be conservative, but a lot of younger families moving from blue states, etc. In 2008 McCain only received 53.4% of the vote here in Arizona, his sixth lowest vote total among the states he won. Now think about that, his home state was one of his least supportive states. Had McCain been from Texas, Florida, etc., he likely would have lost Arizona.

This state has a long history of very conservative, often racist politics and the supporters of those policies aren’t happy that they are consistently losing ground to moderates and liberals (simply termed as liberals in their tirades). Because of how the state legislature is set up conservatives still have a major majority in both houses but, when Napolitano was governor, she vetoed a lot of their stupidity. In fact she set the record for vetoes in the history of the state. You take her away, bring in Brewer who is a wing-nut’s wing-nut, and you see incredibly stupid legislation that was shut down by a reasonable governor make it out of the state house. At the same time you see an increase in non-conservative population as well as an increase in non-white population and the far white err, right is freaking out.
